METAIRIE, La. — A burglar alarm led Jefferson Parish deputies on a chase early Wednesday morning after two people fled from the scene.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said that deputies arrived at the 4600 Block of Airline Drive in Metairie around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
When deputies arrived at the address in the 4600 block of Airline Drive, they found two suspects with a truck and trailer who took off, JPSO said.
The truck and a deputy's vehicle lost control and crashed near 34th Street and I-10 Service Road.
Deputies identified the suspects as 34-year-old Clifford Troxler and 33-year-old Barbara Jackson.
Troxler was taken to the hospital for injuries. Once he's released, JPSO plans to book him on battery on an officer, resisting arrest, simple criminal damage and obstruction of justice.
Meanwhile, Jackson had minor injuries and has been arrested.
Jackson is facing charges of possession of methamphetamines while in possession of a gun, and resisting arrest, according to JPSO.
Three deputies were injured in this incident. Two had minor injuries including a leg sprain and concussion.
A third deputy fractured his pelvis and will need surgery, JPSO said.
Deputies recovered the drugs and gun from the suspect's truck, JPSO said.
This was the third JPSO chase this year that ended in a crash.
In January, a chase on the West Bank ended when a suspect crashed into another car on Terry Parkway.
Two weeks after that, a chase through Old Metairie ended when a suspect's truck crashed near a preschool.
