TERRYTOWN, La. — A police chase on the west bank of Jefferson Parish crossed parish lines and ended with a crash on Terry Parkway Thursday afternoon.
According to JPSO spokesperson Capt. Jason Rivarde, the chase started when deputies were notified of a stolen car at the corner of Manhattan and LaPalco.
Rivarde says the driver fled from JPSO when they attempted to pull them over, leading them on a chase across the west bank and into Plaquemines Parish.
According to police, one of the people in the stolen car threw a gun out the window as they crossed back into Jefferson Parish. That gun was recovered by police and was reported stolen.
The chase ended in the 400 block of Terry Parkway when the driver crashed into another car.
Rivarde says there were two people in the stolen car. One of them got out and carjacked a passing car, driving it into Algiers. Police located that car, but have not found the suspect.
The second suspect was arrested near the scene of the crash. Police only identified him as an adult from Slidell.
