Women who stole puppies from backyard of Loranger home turn themselves in, sheriff says

Both Folse and Witten were booked on one count of Felony Theft and Trespassing.

LORANGER, La. — Two women were arrested after they turned themselves into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for stealing puppies from the backyard of a Loranger home.

Sarah Folse, 31, and Deanna Witten, 52, both of Amite, turned themselves in on Thursday, Jul 4.

This comes after the sheriff called for a search to find Folse and Witten when they were caught on home surveillance video picking up three German Shepard puppies and running back to the car.

Both Folse and Witten were booked on one count of Felony Theft and Trespassing.

The location of the three puppies is unknown at the time, authorities said.

Sheriff Gerald Sticker encourages anyone with information about the location of the puppies to contact the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-748-3335.
