Saints returns specialist Rashid Shaheed makes Associated Press All-Pro First Team; LB Demario Davis – Second Team

The Associated Press 2023 NFL All-Pro team is selected by a national panel of 50 media members.

NEW ORLEANS — A week after earning his first selection to the NFL Pro Bowl for special teams, second-year New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has been named to the All-Pro First Team as a punt returner as well.

The 25-year-old signed with the Saints after the 2022 NFL Draft out of Weber State and ranked second in the NFC and third in the NFL with a 14-yard punt return average.

Shaheed is the sole Saints player to be named to the Pro Bowl this season, and just the second All-Pro selection joining linebacker Demario Davis.

The selection marks the fifth straight season the 35-year-old Davis has been selected as an All-Pro, including his fourth consecutive Second-Team selection. Davis made his All-Pro debut in 2019 on the First Team defense.

The 12-year veteran led the Saints in tackles for the sixth consecutive season with 121 stops (74 solo), 6.5 sacks to tie his 2022 career-high, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

This season, Davis became only the second Saint to have over 100 tackles in six consecutive seasons. Joe Federspiel (1975-80) is the other.
