NEW ORLEANS — The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels, has added another trophy to his case. On Tuesday, Daniels was announced as the nation's top quarterback, after receiving the Manning Award.
He is LSU's third quarterback to receive the honor, along with Jamarcus Russell and Joe Burrow, according to our partners at WBRZ.
Football quarterback Archie Manning said Daniels had an amazing year for the Tigers.
"Even without playing in the postseason, he still led the nation in total offense, ranked fifth in passing offense, and accounted for 50 touchdowns. He was a thrill to watch every week and we're looking forward to hosting him here in New Orleans to officially present him with the trophy," Manning said.
According to our partners at WBRZ, Daniels led college football this past season in total offense, totaling 4,946 yards. He threw for 3,812 yards while running for 1,134 yards. Last year, Daniels had a total of 50 touchdowns, more than 91 teams this past fall, WBRZ reported.
