NCAA Baseball Tournament brackets announced. Here's where 6 Louisiana teams are going.

Each regional field features four teams, playing in a double-elimination format.

INDIANAPOLIS — All 64 teams were announced for the 77th annual NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament during ESPN2's selection show on Monday, including the top 16 national seeds, first-round regional pairings and site assignments.

Each regional field features four teams, playing in a double-elimination format.

LSU (40-21), winners of seven of their last eight, including a 4-1 run in the SEC Tournament before falling short in a failed comeback against top-seed Tennessee (50-11) in the final, will head to the Chapel Hill Regional to play Wofford (41-18) on Friday at 11 a.m.

The winner of that game will face the winner of Long Island (33-23) and host North Carolina (42-13).

LSU has never faced Wofford or LIU and most recently played North Carolina in the 2013 College World Series. The Tigers lost that game 4-2.

The defending national champions have appeared in the CWS 19 times, winning titles in 1991, 1993, 1996-97, 2000, 2009 and last season.

Two other southeast Louisiana schools will be headed to the NCAA Tournament, with back-to-back American Athletic Conference tournament champion Tulane (35-24) and two-straight Southland champion Nicholls (38-20) will each head to Oregon for the Corvallis Regional.

Tulane will face Oregon State (42-14) on Friday at 8 p.m.

The winner will face the winner of the game between second-seeded UC Irvine (43-12) and third-seeded Nicholls, which will be earlier in the day at 3 p.m.

Conference USA runner-up Louisiana Tech (45-17) will open the tournament against Kansas State (32-24) at the Fayetteville Regional with No. 5-seed and host Arkansas (43-14) and Southeast Missouri State (34-25).

Grambling (26-26), winners of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, will join Louisiana-Lafayette (40-18) in traveling to the Lone Star State for the Bryan-College Station Regional to play host Texas A&M (44-13) and Texas (35-22).

In total, six Louisiana teams earned a 2024 berth.
