NEW ORLEANS — The injury-riddled New Orleans Pelicans may be getting a key rotational player back on Monday night.
According to the team, Trey Murphy III is available for the game against the Brooklyn Nets.
The 24-year-old could potentially start in his first game back. Currently, the 3-7 Pelicans are without Dejounte Murray (hand), CJ McCollum (adductor), Jordan Hawkins (lower back), Herb Jones (right shoulder), and Zion Williamson(left hamstring).
It's the second straight season that Murphy has missed the start of the season with an injury.
Last year, the former first-round pick played in 57 games – starting 23 – and finished the season averaging 14.8 points,4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
