NEW ORLEANS — Just two weeks after the Pelicans assigned second-year forward E.J. Liddell to the team's NBA G League affiliate in Birmingham, Ala., he is being recalled back to New Orleans.
The 41st overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft averaged 14.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1 assist in the three games with the Squadron. Liddell appeared in three games for the Pelicans this season prior to joining the Squadron on Nov. 9, and averaged 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in 3.0 minutes per contest.
The 6-foot-6, 242-pounder out of Ohio State missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee.
The Pelicans (7-7) host the Sacramento Kings (8-5) for the second time this week on Wednesday. New Orleans defeated the Kings 129-93 on Monday.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center.
