ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. — The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office announced the temporary closure of the northbound lanes of Paris Road heading out of the parish into the New Orleans and Slidell areas on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 9.

According to Sheriff James Pohlmann, the closure is due to the dense fog combined with wildfire smoke expected in the early morning hours.

Motorists should plan to find an alternate route and use extreme caution in low-visibility conditions.

Like Wednesday, SBSO Traffic Division deputies will be on the roadway coordinating traffic conditions with the New Orleans Police Department throughout the duration of the closures.
