NEW ORLEANS — In addition to the many school districts announcing closures and early release times, many local parishes are closing early in anticipation of severe weather expected on Monday.
The state of Louisiana also announced statewide office closures as well. State offices in Baton Rouge were already closed today for the inauguration holiday.
Here's a list of early dismissals and notices:
State of Louisiana
- All state offices will close at noon today, Monday, Jan. 8, due to predicted severe weather. This is a statewide office closure.
Orleans Parish
- Orleans Parish Civil District Court and First and Second City Court are closing at noon
Jefferson Parish
- All Jefferson Parish libraries, Head Start and Early Head Start Centers, JPRD parks and playgrounds will close at 11:30 a.m.
Tangipahoa Parish
- All parish offices to close at noon
- Parish landfill to remain open
- Parish President/Council inaugural ceremony will go as planned at 3 p.m.
- Parish Council meeting still scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Orleans Parish
St. Tammany Parish
- All St. Tammany Parish Library (STPL) branches and offices will close at noon
