NORD hosts annual holiday toy drive this Saturday

The toy drive will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 at Lafitte Greenway, 1971 St. Louis Street.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission will host its annual drive-thru toy giveaway this Saturday.

Families can pull up and grab a toy to make the holidays special for their kids. The toy drive started in 2020 giving away almost 300 toys. Now fours later, NORD wants to make sure no children are left out this holiday season.

“We look forward to being able to help make this holiday season special for our youth and families for the fourth year in a row” said Larry Barabino Jr., CEO of NORD. "It is an honor to partner with our generous sponsor Wright & Gray Trial Lawyers, other local businesses, and community members who are committed to serving our cities youth through the success of this event.”

There will be toys for children ages 0-13, each child will receive one holiday gift and must be present in the car at the giveaway.

NORD encourages families to arrive early, toys will be given out on a first come , first serve basis.
