As fall approaches, a number of festivals are kicking off across New Orleans and surrounding areas.

NEW ORLEANS — As fall approaches, a number of festivals are kicking off across New Orleans and surrounding areas. Here's a list of upcoming festivals.

Fiesta Fest at Felipe's Taqueria

Friday, Sept. 20 at Felipe's Mid-City in New Orleans, 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Join Felipe's to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with its 8th annual festival.

There will be live performances and enertergic beats of La Tran-K, a 20-piece band that promises to keep  the party going all night long.

French Market Hispanic Heritage Festival

Saturday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the French Market for their third annual festival. This year's celebration will feature a full day of live music curated by Ecos Latinos, food booths, community organizations, and free dance lessons.

Third Annual Nola East Festival

Saturday, Sept. 21 at Joe W. Brown Park, 11 a.m. unti. 7 p.m.

Nola East Festival will celebrate its third festival. The festival is free and open to the public. There will be fun for the entire family to enjoy, including food, entertainment and amusements.

Westbank Heritage Festival

Saturday, Sept. 21 & 22 at Alario Center, noon until 9 p.m.

The annual festival is free and open to the public, featuring headliners Tamar Braxton, Keith Frank and Con Funk Shun. There will be live music, food, games and fun for the entire family to enjoy.

L.O.C.A.L.S' Fest

Saturday, Sept 21, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The free festival features the best local talent with music, family fun and more at Louis Armstrong Park. Free parking will also be available in the Mahalia Jackson lot.

VIP passes are available to purchase. They include a complimentary drink ticket, branded merch and a private elevated viewing area to see performances.

30th Annual Gretna Fest

Friday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 6

Revel on the River at Gretna Fest featuring music, food, family and more. Headliners such as Dierks Bentley, Steve Miller Band, and The Revivalists alongside fast-rising stars and fan favorites like Futurebirds and Natasha Bedingfield will perform.

Admission is free for children 4 and under. 

Single-Day Pass is $40 and a 3-Day Weekend Pass is $90. Child 3-Day passes are $5.

2024 National Fried Chicken Festival

Saturday, Oct. 5 and Sunday Oct. 6

The 7th annual event will take place on the New Orleans Lakefront. Bun B, Better Than Ezra, and Teedra Moses will headline the National Fried Chicken Festival presented by Raising Cane’s music lineup. Nearly 40 restaurants from across the United States will be featured.

Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival

Friday, Oct. 11-Sunday, Oct. 13

  • Friday, Saturday starting at 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Enjoy three days of music, bbq and art at Lafayette Square Park. Admission is free and open to the public. Irma Thomas & the Professionals will headline the festival, which is presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.

There will be two stages of music, a large selection of the best barbeque vendors and a locals art market.

Gentilly Fest

Friday, Oct. 11- Sunday, Oct. 13

  • Friday 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
  • Saturday noon until 10 p.m.
  • Sunday noon until 9 p.m.

Bring out the family to celebrate all things 'Gentilly' with live music on three stages, a variety of local restaurants and fine arts and crafts for sale. There will also be a Kids' Village including face painting, pottery, garden crafts and more.
