LSU RB Trey Holly (25) carries for a touchdown in the second half against Army in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023.

BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU running back Trey Holly takes to social media to profess his innocence in a shooting investigation and to say he is being falsely accused in a February 9 shooting.

“I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested. I am 100% innocent and the people that know me know this is not my character at all,” Holly said in a social media post Saturday.

As WBRZ reports, Holly was arrested on three felony charges which include attempted second-degree murder aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon.

Holly and two other people are accused of a shooting that happened at a Union Villa Apartments in Farmerville. Two people were injured by the gunfire.

The former Union Parish High star turned himself in on Thursday and was booked at the Union Parish Detention Center. He was booked on a $512,000 bond as The Times-Picayune reports.

“To my fans, I’m sorry for the confusion but you guys know this is not me at all. I will come back better than ever, and I look forward to proving my innocence,” Holly said in the post.

Holly redshirted after appearing in just three games as a freshman. In those three appearances, he carried the ball 11 times for 110 yards and one touchdown last season.
