UNION PARISH, La. — LSU running back Trey Holly was arrested for a shooting in Union Parish that left two people injured, according to our partners at The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate.
NOLA.com says the shooting happened at the Union Villa Apartments in Farmerville around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. One woman is in critical condition after being shot three times, and a man was shot once in his lower leg.
The former Union Parish High star turned himself in on Thursday and was booked at the Union Parish Detention Center.
Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates told NOLA.com that Holly was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property, and one count of illegal use of a weapon.
Two other suspects were also arrested.
Holly redshirted after appearing in just three games as a freshman. In those three appearances, he carried the ball 11 times for 110 yards and one touchdown last season.
“We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish. This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”
