JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — The Krewe of Athena amid reports of rainy weather on Sunday; the parade has now been scheduled for Monday.
On Thursday, Jefferson Parish government announced that the local parade would now roll on Lundi Gras, following Centurions.
"Due to the anticipated inclement weather forecast for Sun., Feb. 11, 2024, the Krewe of Athena will now roll on Mon., Feb. 12, 2024 following the Krewe of Centurions, which will move up to 6 p.m." Jefferson Parish Government said on Thursday. "The Krewe of Athena was originally scheduled to roll on Sunday at 5:30 p.m."
WWL Meteorologists are anticipating Sunday with a 70% chance of scattered showers and storms. On Lundi Gras there is only a 30% chance of morning showers.
