TPSO increases reward for information on escaped inmate

Jamarcus Cyprian is the last escapee on the run of the four who broke out of the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says they have increased the reward amount for any information leading to the capture of escaped inmate Jamarcus Cyprian.

The reward is now $10,000.

Cyprian is the last escapee on the run of the four who broke out of the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

Avery Guidry, 19, and Travon Johnson, 21, broke part of a fence, slid under an outside wall, and climbed two razor wire fences Saturday. Omarion Hookfin and Cyprian followed suit.

Both Guidry and Johnson were captured the following day, hiding in a dumpster in Slidell.

Hookfin was captured in an abandoned house on Wardline Road, just west of Interstate 55, last Friday.

Hookfin, Johnson and Guidry were in jail following their arrest in connection with a 2022 fatal home invasion in Hammond that ended with a 12-year-old girl in the hospital and her 33-year-old father dead.

Meanwhile, Cyprian was serving time for armed robbery and weapon charges.

Sheriff Edwards asks anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Lt. Jacob Schwebel at 985-902-2037 OR Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa if you wish to remain anonymous.
