HAMMOND, La. — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 19-year-old Omarion Hookfin on Friday.
According to the TPSO, Hookfin was captured by its Criminal Investigations Division in an abandoned house on Wardline Road just west of Interstate 55.
Hookfin is the third of four inmates who escaped the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Sunday, leaving only 20-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian still at large.
Avery Guidry, 19, and Travon Johnson, 21, broke part of a fence, slid under an outside wall, and climbed two razor wire fences Saturday. Hookfin and Cyprian followed suit.
Both Guidry and Johnson were captured the following day while both men were hiding in a dumpster in Slidell.
Hookfin, Johnson and Guidry were in jail following their arrest in connection with a 2022 fatal home invasion in Hammond that ended with a 12-year-old girl in the hospital and her 33-year-old father dead.
Cyprian was serving time for armed robbery and weapon charges.
“Ultimately, the responsibility falls upon the sheriff’s office,” said Chief of Operations at the sheriff’s office, Jimmy Travis, during a media briefing held earlier this week.
