NEW ORLEANS — Police said Tuesday they had arrested a suspect in connection with dozens of auto burglaries at the Notre Dame Seminary before dawn Friday.
Ma’Leik Ahmad Hundley, 18, was arrested on unrelated charges, according to the NOPD. He is accused of 38 counts of simple burglary, 40 counts of criminal damage to property, two counts of trespassing, one count of attempted burglary and one count of conspiracy to commit burglary.
The break-ins were the latest in a stubborn trend New Orleans police have had trouble getting under control in recent months.
Sarah McDonald, a spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, said 41 cars were broken into at the seminary about 4:45 a.m.
Three other people seen in video footage of the break-ins remain at large.
