NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting involving four victims in the French Quarter on Thursday. One person was arrested and arrest warrants were issued for two additional suspects.
The shooting at Iberville and Royal streets resulted in one death, according to police. Police said " a 27-year-old female was killed and three additional adults – a 40-year-old male, 39-year-old female and 24-year-old-male – sustained injuries from gunfire," in a release.
They were taken to the hospital for treatment.
NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told media shortly after 5 p.m. that a person of interest is now in custody as a suspect and the hunt is on for two other gunman detectives have identified through surveillance footage.
"We do have the identity of at least a second of three shooters," she said. "We have a house that we are in the process of conducting a search warrant on and we have indeed recovered at least one firearm.
"We do know who you are," she continued. "We are asking you to turn yourself in."

Kirkpatrick said the NOPD will be releasing names and photos of the suspects shortly, and said one of the three injured is in surgery and listed in critical condition.
NOPD said Nicholas Miorana, 29 was arrested. Police also obtained arrest warrants for Daniel Miorana, 21, and Darrell Adams, 29. They all face one count each of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Miorano was arrested on the scene with the suspect vehicle and "was found to be wearing an ankle monitor during the commission of the offense."
Adams is wanted by the NOPD in connection to an aggravated battery by shooting incident that happened on Sept. 25 in the 7700 block of Dorsett Street.
Initial notification was received at about 12:21 p.m.
WWL Louisiana's Amelia Strahan spoke with an eyewitness shortly after the shooting.
"There was probably 30 to 40 rounds of gunfire," Aaron Jordan explained. "I saw a silver...I believe was a Honda four-door car that sped down Iberville Street. There was also two men, one had a red jacket and long braids, and he was running down the street toward Canal. When I made it to the corner, I saw there was a homeless woman who had been shot.
"I'm just speculating, but I would assume it was shootout – people were shooting from both sides."

Eyewitness describes French Quarter shooting
Kirkpatrick talked to media earlier in the day and said the suspects' vehicle was found and one person of interest detained for questioning.
"What we have is very, very good video," Kirkpatrick said. "So we have been able to see the situation and what happened. What we do know is that a vehicle pulled up. At least three on board and seemed to have been targeting a particular person who was in a group."
Kirkpatrick did confirm four casualties, including one death.

The vehicle was found off Interstate 10 and Crowder Boulevard.
City Council President Helena Moreno issued the following statement on the recent mass shooting incidents across the city:
“Tragically, we are faced with another mass shooting this week. This reiterates the point I made during yesterday’s Criminal Justice Committee meeting that these shootings are not linked to certain gatherings or locations, this is an overall gun violence problem throughout our city and we cannot stand for it. This is not who we are and those responsible will be apprehended and fully prosecuted. We are losing too many lives to this senseless violence. I pray for the victims and am thankful to the NOPD and first responders who rushed to the scene to help the injured and secure the area.”
This is the ninth homicide this month. Kirkpatrick said last year New Orleans had 20 in November.
This is a developing story.
