Deadly weekend: 5 killed in 4 separate shootings across 3 parishes

Investigators in all of the homicide investigations are still working to gather evidence that could lead to a suspect and a motive.

NEW ORLEANS — Five people were killed in four separate shootings that happened across three parishes in what turned out to be a violent three days in southeast Louisiana.

Orleans Parish

Two men were killed in two separate shootings across Orleans Parish.

The first happened Saturday night in the Iberville neighborhood in New Orleans. The New Orleans Police Department said they are investigating a homicide after a man, later identified by the coroner's office as John'te D. Williams, 24, was found shot dead in the 300 block of Marais Street at about 11:05 p.m. Police in New Orleans have arrested a woman, Keiona Robertson, in connection to the homicide.

The second fatal shooting happened in Central City in the early morning hours on Monday. The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue.

Initial reports show Mark Noble, 32, was shot at least one time to his body at about 2:15 a.m. Monday.  EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Jefferson Parish

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal double shooting in Avondale after two men were found shot to death late Sunday afternoon.

The discovery was made at about 5:30 p.m. as deputies responded to a report of two unresponsive men inside a home in the 200 block of Coretta Drive.

Both men were suffering from at least one gunshot wound and both were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS the sheriff said.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is in its early stages and that no additional information is available as the investigation is ongoing.

St. John the Baptist Parish

A 16-year-old girl was killed early Sunday morning in a drive-by around 2:00 a.m. on Airline Highway in Reserve Louisiana.

St. John the Baptist Sheriff, Michael Tregre, said that 16-year-old Aariah Henry was killed in the drive-by shooting. Sheriff Tregre says he does not believe Henry was the intended target of the shooting.

The sheriff’s office posted a video of the shooting on social media in the hope it would lead to the identification of a suspect.

The video shows two cars traveling northbound on Airline Highway when muzzle flashes can be seen from at least four shots fired from the passenger window of one of the cars investigators believe is a 2015 gray Kia Optima reported stolen out of New Orleans in March.

Detectives do not have any leads at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to call Captain Brandon Barlow of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 504-494-2674.

The female victim, 16-year-old Aariah Henry, was shot once and was transferred to St. James Hospital where she later died. Investigators believe she was targeted.
