Woman arrested in downtown homicide investigation, NOPD reports

It happened at about 11:18 p.m. in the 300 block of Marais Street.

NEW ORLEANS — Police in New Orleans have arrested a woman in connection to a homicide investigation that happened in downtown New Orleans Saturday night.

Investigators say officers responded to a call of a shooting Saturday at about 11:05 p.m. in the 300 block of Marais Street one block from Canal Street in the Iberville area of downtown New Orleans.

According to an NOPD report an adult male was found with a least one gunshot wound to his body. EMS was called to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

On Sunday, NOPD investigators said they have arrested Keiona Robertson, 35, in connection to the homicide investigation.

Through investigation, detectives identified the perpetrator as Robertson.  She was taken into custody on charges of manslaughter and booked into the Orleans Justice Center accordingly.

The Orleans Parish Coroner will positively identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
