NEW ORLEANS — Editor's Note: If your krewe has canceled a parade for this year's Carnival season, please email WWL-TV with the information.
Parades in New Orleans, Jefferson Parish have canceled their 2024 Mardi Gras. WWL Louisiana's digital team has put together a list of canceled parades.
krewedelusion parade
Just two days before its march downtown, krewedelusion canceled its parade, the krewe announced Thursday.
A spokesman for the krewe said it was a mix of "unanticipated expenses and the disruption of changing days twice in two years," our partners at Nola.com reported.
The krewe announced that it was scheduled to parade on Saturday, Jan. 27., its normal route earlier in January. However, the krewe said as it got closer to March, the number of members to walk in the parade was uncertain. So, krewedelusion leadership canceled parading this year, Nola.com reported.
Those who love the krewe can still attend its Bedlam Ball on Saturday, at Little People’s Place, 1226 Barracks, starting at 8 p.m.-until.
Krewe of Caerus
The parade was set to roll for the first time on Sunday, Feb. 4 on Veterans Boulevard, but the krewe still needed $12,000 to stage the parade, according to our partners at Nola.com.
Krewe of Caerus was inspired by the Greek god of opportunity and luck. It was expected to have 14 floats and 200 riders.
Krewe of Culinary Queens of New Orleans
Another krewe canceled its upcoming parade after members were "unable to raise sufficient money to cover the cost of the parade," founder Akasia Lee-Nicholas told Nola.com.
The krewe was set to roll through Marrero on Tuesday, Feb. 6, and was one of three Carnival parades in Jefferson Parish on the West Bank.
The theme of this year's parade was going to be "The Holy Trinity", set to have 300 riders and 15 floats.
Krewe of Little Rascals
The krewe of Little Rascals canceled its parade last year after its co-founder, Jack Spittler Sr., died in Texas.
Last year, over 200 children were riders across 17 floats and had paraded 38 times. The krewe plans to return for the next parade season in 2025.
The Jefferson Truck Parade also announced they are calling it quits after more than 50 years.
