NEW ORLEANS — A wave of storms swept across South Louisiana on Friday afternoon, a flood advisory was issued for Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard due to the possibility of heavy rains in the region.
NOLA Ready sent an alert Friday afternoon with 0.5 to 1.25" of rain having already fallen in the area.
Locations at risk of minor flooding include New Orleans, Chalmette, Harvey, Belle Chasse, Gretna, Arabi,
Terrytown and Lakefront Airport.
The advisory is in effect until 8:15 p.m.
Concurrently, the New Orleans officials are permitting neutral ground parking until the advisory is lifted.
Please don't block intersections, streetcar tracks, sidewalks, or bike paths.
Avoid flood waters
-NEVER drive through flood waters. It's dangerous for you, your vehicle, and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.
-If water rises around your car, abandon the car immediately.

-Call 911 to report street flooding and life-threatening emergencies.
