NEW ORLEANS — Thousands of residencies and businesses in the New Orleans area are currently without power after a series of severe storms passed through the area on Wednesday afternoon.
Entergy New Orleans is reporting:
- approximately 21,200 without power in Jefferson Parish
- 9,200 without power in Orleans Parish
- 4,000 without power in St. Bernard Parish
- 2,700 without power in Terrebonne Parish
- 1,500 without power in St. Tammany Parish
- 1,000 without power in Tangipahoa Parish
- 475 without power in St. Charles Parish and St. John the Baptist Parish
Entergy is also reporting that Wednesday's line of storms took down hundreds of power lines across the area, and are urging people to stay away from any downed power lines they may see.
