Weather Alert: Possible storm damage in Tammany Parish, crashes on I-12

According to the NWS, the warning was in effect until 3:15 p.m.

MANDEVILLE, La. — Strong wind and hail damage has been reported on the Northshore after a severe thunderstorm swept across St. Tammany Parish on Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple crashes on Interstate 12 also has traffic currently backed up for miles in the area.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas in parish shortly before 2:30 p.m.

According to the NWS, the warning was in effect until 3:15 p.m.

The area included Mandeville from the Causeway to Florenville down to Slidell.

Residents in that area were advised to seek shelter indoors until the storm had passed.

This is an ongoing situation and will be updated once further information becomes available or conditions change.
