Street flood advisory issued for parts of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines

The advisory is in effect until 4:30 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS — A Street Flood Advisory has been issued for parts of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines until 4:30 p.m.

Street flooding is possible in these areas.

Don't drive through flooded roads.

Gloomy weather for your Friday. Expect clouds, low 80s, and passing showers. At times, rain will pick up in intensity, but overall, the flood risk is limited. As we head into the weekend, the chance for rain begins to drop. Expect a few showers on Saturday, with a mostly dry Sunday. We'll see a lot of clouds this weekend, so temperatures stay in the low to mid-80s.

This weekend, we'll also watch the Gulf. Low pressure will develop to our south. This developing low is back of to a 40% chance for development. The NHC will watch this into next week. Whatever forms will head towards Florida next week. The biggest threat will be heavy rain for the northern Gulf; a weak, cool front and trough will keep us dry next week with cooler mornings and sunny afternoons.
