NEW ORLEANS — A flash flood warning was issued for New Orleans, Metairie and Kenner until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a heavy downpour set up directly overhead. Rainfall rates were up to 3+ inches per hour. The warning was first issued until 8:30 p.m. and then extended until 9:30 p.m.
Neutral ground parking is allowed until July 10 at 8 am.
By 7:45 p.m., heavy rain was ending as the heavy cells weakened and shifted eastward. Still, be careful if you have to drive around Tuesday evening as some streets may be flooded even after the rain.
