NEW ORLEANS — Most of the state of Louisiana is under some type of winter weather warning or advisory for Sunday through at least midday Monday.
WINTER STORM WARNING for St. James, Tangipahoa and Washington Parish from midnight until 6 PM Monday. These areas could see the most significant ice accumulation with travel impossible and power outages possible. Ice accumulation of .5" possible.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for upper Lafourche, upper Terrebonne, St. John, St Charles, St. Tammany and Pearl River County from 6 AM Monday until 6 PM Monday. Difficult travel is possible as a light accumulation of ice could make roads slick.
Temperatures are expected to dip after the precipitation comes through, possibly leading to icy, impassable roads and power outages.
Driving will be dangerous. In addition, precautions should be taken to protect people, pipes, pets and plants.
