LIST: Sandbag Locations in Southeast Louisiana

Sandbags will be available at the following locations.

NEW ORLEANS — Tropical Storm Francine formed Monday morning in the gulf. It's expected to intensify with storm surge and hurricane watches issued for the Louisiana coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Here is a list of locations where Sandbags will be available:

Lafourche Parish

All sandbag locations are open and will stay open until further notice. Self-fill sites please - bring your shovel. The elderly and disabled will be able to pick up 25 prefilled bags per address at our Field Offices only.

Sandbags at the following locations:

  • Thibodaux Field Office: 2565 Veterans Blvd.
  • Manchester Manor: End of street, Thibodaux
  • Bayou Country Club: End of Fairway Drive, Thibodaux
  • Chackbay Fair Grounds: Hwy 304
  • Choctaw Field Office: 122 Choctaw Barn Road
  • Bayou Boeuf Bridge: Hwy 307
  • Des Allemands Bridge: intersection of Bridge Road and Bayou Road
  • Bayou Blue Recreation Grounds: Hwy 316 South of Hwy 182
  • Raceland Ag Grounds Parking Lot: Texas Street
  • Lockport Field Office: 6236 Hwy 308
  • Lafourche Fire District #3 Central Station: 17462 West Main, Galliano
  • Oak Ridge Community Park: Golden Meadow
  • Elderly/Disabled Pickup (25 bags): Open until 7PM tonight and will reopen at    6AM on Wednesday, September 11th until weather conditions are not safe.
  • Thibodaux Field Office: 2565 Veterans Blvd.
  • Choctaw Field Office: 122 Choctaw Barn Road
  • Raceland Field Office: 129 Texas Street
  • Bayou Blue Field Office: 104 Myrtle Drive
  • Lockport Field Office: 6236 Highway 308
  • Cut Off Field Office: 128 West 97th Street

Orleans Parish

Sandbags will be distributed on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until supplies are gone.

  • Dryades YMCA 
  • Saint Maria Goretti Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd.
  • St. Leo the Great, 2916 Paris Ave.
  • Intersection of Desire Pkwy. & Law St.(near NOFD Engine 8) 3300 Florida Ave.
  • Arthur Monday Center, 1111 Newton St.

City officials said they will announce other locations later.

Plaquemines Parish

Sandbags are available at these locations:

Self-Serve Locations:

  • Buras YMCA
  • Port Sulphur YMCA
  • Old Boothville YMCA (Next to Leroy Harvey Park)
  • Braithwaite Park
  • Davant Community Center

Note: Bring your own shovel.

St. Bernard Parish

SBPG has the necessary supplies and materials at several locations throughout the parish.

4 self-serve sandbag locations will be opened at 1 pm today, Monday, September 9, at the following locations in St. Bernard Parish:

  • St. Bernard Parish Government Complex Parking lot at 8201 W. Judge Perez Dr. Chalmette, La 70043
  • St. Bernard Parish Port of St. Bernard in Chalmette, in the parking lot towards the back.
  • Meraux Fair Grounds OTB & Casino 4242 E Judge Perez Dr, Meraux
  • Fire Station 10 3901 Bayou Rd Verret, La 70085

St. John the Baptist Parish

Self-Serve Locations (Residents are asked to bring a shovel)

  • St. John Community Center - LaPlace
  • Railroad Avenue Fire Station (near Riverside Academy) - Reserve
  • Ezekiel Jackson Park - Garyville
  • Juan Anthony Joseph Memorial Park - Edgard
  • Wallace Fire Station
  • Lucy Fire Station
  • Pleasure Bend Fire Station
    • Pre-filled sandbags for the elderly and disabled: (Limit 10 pre-filled)
      • 425 Captain G. Bourgeois, LaPlace

St. Tammany Parish

St. Tammany Parish Government is closely monitoring Potential Tropical Cyclone Six, which is expected to impact Louisiana later this week.

Our Public Works crews are mobilized and preparations across the parish include inspecting ponds to lower water levels and ordering fuel to top off all tanks.

Self-service sandbag locations continue to be open at the following 5 locations.

  • Airport Road Public Works Barn (34783 Grantham College Drive, Slidell)
  • Fritchie Public Works Barn (63119 LA-1090, Pearl River)
  • Keller Public Works Barn (63131 Fish Hatchery Road, Lacombe)
  • St. Tammany Parish Government Complex (21410 Koop Drive, Mandeville)
  • Covington Public Works Barn (1305 N. Florida Street, Covington)

Please bring your own shovel. Assistance will be available to those in need by calling 985-898-2557.

Tangipahoa Parish

Ready-made sandbags will be available at 7 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at the Florida Parishes Arena and the Pleasant Ridge Road Barn, 1301 NW Central Avenue Amite, LA 70422.

Terrebonne Parish

The parish has opened two self-serve sandbag stations at the following locations:

  • Fireman's Skate Park (161 Library Drive): sand will be located in parking lot between skate park and Main Branch library.
  • Adult Softball Complex (9544 East Main Street): sand will be located in the parking lot in front of the softball fields.
  • The City of Thibodaux's Public Works and Parks Departments are removing debris and cleaning out catch basins. At the Public Works Barn, located at 1219 Henry S. Thibodaux Street, a self-fill sandbag station will be open to residents starting on Tuesday. 

Residents must bring their own shovels to fill bags.

Pearl River, Miss.

Self-service sandbag locations will open tomorrow Tuesday, September 10th at Noon at the following locations:

  • Henleyfield-Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 6868 Highway 43 North 
  • Nicholson Volunteer Fire Department Station 1 1981 Highway 11 South 
  • Pinegrove Station 2 262 Liberty Road
  • Emergency Operations Center 810 Highway 11 South 

Hancock County, Miss.

Self-Serve Locations

  • Emergency Operations Center - Storm Prep Building, 18333 Hwy 603
  • Old Hancock County Complex - 3068 Longfellow Drive
  • Lakeshore Community Center - 6440 Lower Bay Road
  • Bayside Fire Department - 6215 West Hinds Street
