List: Evacuation Orders issued ahead of Hurricane Ida

Mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders have been called in several parishes.

NEW ORLEANS — Hurricane Ida has formed in the Caribbean and could become a major hurricane by the time it reaches the northern U.S. Gulf Coast over the next several days. The storm became a hurricane on Friday, and will undergo rapid intensification by the time it approaches the northern Gulf Coast.

Jefferson Parish 

Voluntary 

  • If you are inside levee protection system evacuation is voluntary.

Mandatory

  • Mandatory evacuation in place now for areas outside of levee protection system: Jean Lafitte, Lower Lafitte, Crown Point & Grand Isle.  

Lafourche Parish

Mandatory starting at 5 AM Saturday 

  • For all residents, especially those in low-lying areas, mobile homes, and RV's

St. Charles Parish

Mandatory 

  • President Jewell has ordered a mandatory evacuation for all of St. Charles Parish

St. John Parish

  • St. John Parish issues voluntary evacuation for all of St. John Parish.

Orleans Parish

Mandatory 

  • All areas outside of Levee protection system

Voluntary

  • Any one who feels they would be safer elsewhere

Plaquemines Parish

Mandatory 

Effective 3 p.m. Friday, mandatory evacuation will be ordered for the following areas:

  • The entire East Bank of Plaquemines Parish
  • West Bank of Plaquemines Parish from Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery to Venice.

Terrebonne Parish

Mandatory

  • Parish-wide evacuation starts 6 AM on Saturday

Tangipahoa Parish 


  • The parish has issued a recommended evacuations for residents
