NEW ORLEANS — As if playing in a tropical storm wasn't enough, the Saints experienced a mild earthquake prior to kickoff against the Chargers Sunday afternoon in SoFi Stadium.
A 5.1 magnitude quake struck in Ojai, California about 50 miles away.
Some people, such as WWL-TV Sports Director Doug Mouton, who was in the stadium, did not feel the quake, but others in Los Angeles definitely did. One viewer in Los Angeles said she felt it and it was "short but unsettling."
Cam Jordan tweeted about it from the stadium.
The NFL decided not to cancel the Saints-Chargers game despite the threat of heavy rain and some gusty winds from Hurricane Hilary.
