City of New Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines Parish to distribute blue tarps for damaged roofs

The city of New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish will distribute blue tarps for people with damaged rooftops. Here's the information on where to get them.

Orleans

The City of New Orleans, in partnership with the New Orleans City Council, will distribute temporary 40 foot by 40 foot tarps for residents and businesses that experienced roof damage due to Hurricane Zeta.  

On Saturday, Oct. 31, tarps will be available at seven distribution sites--at least one in each City Council District--from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as supplies last. Individuals will be asked to provide an address of the damaged property. The tarp distribution locations are as follows: 

District A: Mid-City Library, 4140 Canal St.

District B: Dryades YMCA, 2220 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

District C (West Bank): Arthur Monday Center, 1111 Newton St.

District C (East Bank): New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Chartres Street and Homer Plessy Way

District D: Intersection of Desire and Law Streets

District E (New Orleans East): St. Maria Goretti Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd.

District E (Lower 9th Ward): New Philippians Missionary Baptist Church, 5234 N. Claiborne Ave. 

Tarps were made available by the Louisiana National Guard.

Plaquemines Parish

Plaquemines Parish Government will be distributing blue roof tarps for residents in need, starting at 3 PM-6PM October 30th. Distribution will continue throughout the weekend from 8 AM-4 PM.

The tarps will be distributed to parish residents ONLY with a proof of Identification. Tarps will be available while supplies last. Addition tarps will be supplied as we receive them

Parish-Wide locations will be as follows:

  • Plaquemines Parish Government Complex, 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd. Belle Chasse, 70037 Building 900, (Sandbag Location)
  • Eastbank, Scarsdale Ferry landing
  • Port Sulphur Government Building, 28028 HWY 23, Port Sulphur, 70083

St. Bernard

Chalmette, LA –  St. Bernard Parish will be distributing blue roof tarps for residents in need, starting at 10AM this morning, October 30th.

The tarps will be distributed at the Tractor Supply parking lot located at 2505 Archbishop Hannan Blvd. in Meraux.
