NEW ORLEANS — French Quarter Fest officials reopened the fest at 3 p.m. Organizers temporarily suspended the event for a few hours while severe weather moved through our area.
"The GE Stage in Jackson Square, Louisiana Fish Fry Stage, WWL-TV Esplanade in the Shade Stage and Credit Human Songwriter Stages at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint are all live!" the festival said in a tweet.
The following stages will stay closed Saturday but they will reopen on Sunday:
- Abita Beer Stage
- Pan-American Life Insurance Group Stage
- Ernie's Schoolhouse Stage
- Zapp's Potato Chips Stage
- Hancock Whitney Stage
Organizers also said the Chevron Children’s STEM Zone will not reopen on Saturday.
The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival was also temporarily paused. They reopened the fest at 2 p.m.
A second round of storms is expected very early Sunday, but it should be good weather for the festivals Sunday.
