METAIRIE, La. — The Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission announced the reopening of all southbound lanes on the Causeway Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain on Wednesday.
The lanes were once again open to traffic shortly before 3 p.m.
According to the GNOEC and the Causeway Police Department, an accident caused the closure just before 2 p.m.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development traffic map, the incident was close the toll area near the start of the bridge on the Northshore.
There is no further details on the accident or any injuries at this time.
