NEW ORLEANS — Kenner police are investigating a 4-vehicle accident that snarled morning rush hour traffic on I-10.
The accident shut down the westbound lanes for a time between the Loyola and Williams exits. It involved a school bus and 3 other vehicles. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.
According to KPD, the bus clipped the car in front of it, tried to shift lanes, and was hit from behind. Another car then ran into the back of that vehicle.
The bus ended up sideways, against traffic. The highway has since reopened.
Police say the bus driver was cited for following too close.
One of the other drivers involved in the accident went to the hospital with chest pains.
The accident remains under investigation.
