ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The right lane on the I-59 is closed after an 18-wheeler caught fire on Friday night, according to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District No.11. Police are working to remove the burned truck off the interstate.
The right lane of I-59 near mile marker 4 is expected to reopen in about two hours, Pearl River Police Department said Saturday afternoon.
The I-59 northbound was shut down after an 18-wheeler caught fire on Friday night. Around 9:52 p.m., crews were seen putting out the massive blaze near exit 5A.
Pearl River Fire District said the truck was " hauling fruits and vegetables" and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters said the blaze was put out and the scene was cleared at 11:50 p.m. Friday.
