Traffic Alert: Temporary lane closure on Loyola Ave at Poydras Street for palm tree removals

City officials said the lane will be closed in 400 block of upriver-bound Loyola Avenue at Poydras Street.

NEW ORLEANS — The Department of Parks and Parkways will close the turning lane and bus stop on Loyola Ave at Poydras Street for palm removal work starting on Friday, Oct. 18. The closure is expected until Tuesday, Oct. 22.

City officials said the lane will be closed in 400 block of upriver-bound Loyola Avenue at Poydras Street.

The sidewalk will also be closed during removals.

"Barricades and signage will be in place starting tomorrow, Oct. 18 to help guide drivers and pedestrians safely around the closure," the city said in a release.

Over 2,000 acres of parks, squares and green spaces across the city are managed by the Department of Parks and Parkways.
