NEW ORLEANS — A crash on Interstate 10 heading westbound toward Metairie closed all lanes of traffic for about 30 minutes and backed up traffic for more than an hour after that as the wreckage was cleared and lanes slowly reopened.
The crash was reported at about 1:45 p.m. and the NOPD said that at least one person was taken to the hospital by emergency vehicle.
In addition, there was a traffic crash that closed one lane of US 90 West coming across the Crescent City Connection, which further snarled traffic.
The wreckage was taken away after a little over an hour and traffic resumed at its normal pace.
