NEW ORLEANS — The Claiborne Avenue Bridge will be closed through Sunday for emergency repairs, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced Friday evening.
DOTD officials said the closure is necessary to allow newly poured concrete to cure properly. The work is part of the repairs set to be completed by the end of January.
The bridge closure started at 8 p.m. on Friday and will be closed until Sunday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m.
Detour signs will be posted during the closure.
