I-10 back open after 6-car crash

The traffic was said to be backed up to Williams Blvd. Cameras showed some cars trying to turn around.

METAIRIE, La. — A crash involving six vehicles temporarily shut down I-10 eastbound near the Veterans Blvd. exit Friday morning around 4:30 a.m. but traffic was back flowing by 5:20 a.m.

At 5 a.m., traffic was backed up considerably and all lanes were closed.

The cause of the crash or any word on injuries was not immediately available.

At one point traffic was backed up to the Williams Blvd. exit.

I-10 East is closed before Veterans Boulevard due to an accident. Congestion is appraoching Williams Boulevard. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
