MARRERO, La. — State Police are on the lookout for a white, 2004 white, extended cab Ford F-150 with a silver toolbox in the bed following a crash on the West Bank Expressway that left two men dead early Friday morning.
State Police said the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the Ames Blvd. exit on the elevated West Bank Expressway.
According to State Police, two men were on a motorized scooter in the center lane of US 90 (elevated West Bank Expressway) headed west and the pickup was travling behind them.
Police said the pickup struck the scooter, ejecting the driver and passenger onto the expressway. Both men were wearing helmets, however, neither survived. One of the victims was pronounced dead on the scene while the other was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Police are working to determine the identifies of the two men.
Police said that the Ford pickup (pictured below) did not stop and that the scooter ended up caught underneath the pickup and burst into flames after being dragged a distance. They believe the Ford pickup will have significant damage.

The crash caused traffic to be completely halted westbound for nearly four hours early Friday.
