NEW ORLEANS — Authorities responded to a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck in New Orleans East Monday morning.
According to Total Traffic New Orleans, the crash was reported around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Hayne Boulevard and Vanderkloot Avenue.
Photos from the scene show a pickup truck overturned on its side with significant damage to its front end. The school bus, which appears to belong to the bus company Apple Bus Co., struck a home's fence. The truck struck a portion of the home's structure before overturning.
Students were on the bus at the time of the crash but were not injured according to initial police reports. The driver of the truck was injured and taken to the hospital by EMS. His condition is unknown at this time.
