Keep Louisiana Beautiful to kick off 'Love the Boot Week' in time for Earth Day 2024

Its third annual 'Love the Boot Week', just in time for Earth Day on Monday, Apr. 22. It will be seven days of litter cleanup, beautification, and recycling.

LOUISIANA, USA — It's third annual 'Love the Boot Week', just in time for Earth Day on Monday, Apr. 22. It will be seven days of litter cleanup, beautification, and recycling. 

Keep Louisiana Beautiful is getting ready for its third annual 'Love the Boot Week', ahead of Earth Day on Monday, Apr. 22. It will be seven days of litter cleanup, beautification, and recycling. 

Love the Boot Week kicks off on Saturday, April 20 until Sunday, April 28. Last year, nearly 13,000 people volunteered in what the organization calls the largest litter cleanup and beautification event in all 64 parishes.

Here are some Earth Day events:

SATURDAY, APRIL 20

  • Xavier University of Louisiana Wild Life Art Garden
    • 9 a.m. at the Art Village on Lowerline Street
  • Lincoln Beach Neighborhood Association
    • 10 a.m.
  • Faubourg Lafayette Neighborhood Cleanup and Tree Dedication
    • 10 a.m. at 1500 Simon Bolivar Avenue
  • Where the Bayou Meets the Greenway: Mega-litter and Invasive Species Cleanup!
    • 9 a.m. at 436 N. Norman C. Francis Pkwy
  • St. John Loves the Boot! Mid-City Community Cleanup
    • 9 a.m. at 3837 Canal Street

MONDAY, APRIL 22

  • CACRC (Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council)- Baton Rouge
    • 9 a.m. at 1400 Main Street
  • Louisiana Office of State Parks - Baton Rouge
    • 9 a.m. at 1051 N 3rd Street
  • Ponchatoula Area Recreation District #1- Ponchatoula, LA
    • 10 a.m. at 19030 Ponchatoula Park Drive
  • UL Lafayette - Office of Sustainability (Keep UL Lafayette Beautiful)
  • 10:30 a.m. 1606 at Johnston Street
