NEW ORLEANS — The Saints have announced who will be the backup quarterback to Derek Carr and the list of inactive players ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Jake Haener, a fourth-round pick, will be the next man up to Carr in Sunday’s game in the Caesars Superdome.
As our partners at Nola.com report, head coach Dennis Allen picked Haener after a competitive battle in training camp between him and rookie Spencer Rattler.
The Saints also announced the list of inactive players:
- Wide receiver A.T. Perry (hand)
- Defensive tackle Khalen Saunders (calf)
- Linebacker D’Marco Jackson (calf)
- Linebacker Jaylan Ford (hamstring)
- Defensive tackle John Ridgeway III
- Tight end Dallin Holker (ankle)
