NFL and the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee announce lineup of events

The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said the last Super Bowl in the city brought in roughly $480 million.

NEW ORLEANS — On Tuesday, the NFL and the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee announced a lengthy lineup of events leading up to the big game on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

In true New Orleans fashion, the big news was there will be a Carnival-style parade the day before for visitors and locals. The parade will roll through the French Quarter and end in the Warehouse District on Saturday, Feb. 8. 

Barry Kern Studios will be building the floats. Kern said to expect at least 20 floats. Plus, top high school and college bands from across Louisiana. 

The city anticipates a huge economic impact outside of the 150,000 fans with tickets to the game. 

This is the 11th time New Orleans has hosted a Super Bowl. The last time was in 2013. The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said that event brought in roughly $480 million. 

Below is a list of free and ticketed events the week leading up to Super Bowl LIX. 

Super Bowl Opening Night - Monday, Feb. 3

Fans are invited to the Caesars Superdome ahead of Super Bowl LIX for an evening celebrating the AFC and NFC champions as they arrive in New Orleans. This is the only public appearance for Super Bowl players and coaches before the big game. There will be family-friendly activities, photo opportunities and NFL merchandise for sale. 

Tickets are $20 and will be available December 10th. 

Super Bowl Experience - Wednesday, Feb. 5 - Saturday, Feb. 8

The Ernest Morial Convention Center will host the NFL's family-friendly, immersive football festival. Fans will have the opportunity to meet current NFL players and legends. 

Tickets will be available in December. Adult tickets start at $20. Kids 12 & under are free. 

Louisiana Culture Festival at the French Market - Friday, Feb. 7-Saturday, Feb. 8

The free festival will highlight the many cultures of Louisiana. Booths will include local Native American tribes, basket weaving, storytelling, and cooking and dance demonstrations. Jazz and Zydeco bands will perform live. 

Super Bowl Host Committee Parade - Saturday, Feb. 8

The parade will roll at 10 a.m. the day before the big game. It starts at the corner of Esplanade and Decatur Street. From Decatur, the parade will turn onto Poydras Street and conclude on St. Charles in the Warehouse District. Mardi Gras bleachers and stands will be set up for viewing. 

The parade will be live-streamed by our partners at NOLA.com and is free and open to the public. 

Taste of the NFL - Saturday, Feb. 8

Taste of the NFL is the organization's largest philanthropic culinary event held during Super Bowl weekend. It features top chefs who share the mission of tackling food insecurity. The event will be held at the World War II Museum from 4-7 p.m.
