Tyrone Hughes, Michael Lewis named to Saints Hall of Fame

Tryone Hughes and Michael Lewis, two New Orleans natives who went on to play for the Saints, have been named to the Saints Hall of Fame.

NEW ORLEANS -- Tryone Hughes and Michael Lewis, two New Orleans natives who went on to play for the Saints, have been named to the team's Hall of Fame.

Hughes, who starred at St. Augustine High School, played for the Saints for four seasons after he was drafted in the fifth round by the team in 1993, and Lewis, who went to Grace King High School, made the team in 2000 and played for the Saints for seven seasons.

He was named an Associated Press second-team All-Pro in 1993 and was chosen for the Pro Bowl as a return specialist that year, while Lewis was a first-team All-Pro in 2002 and name to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist that season.

Also SMG executive vice president Doug Thornton will receive the Joe Gemelli Fleur de Lis award for his contributions to the New Orleans Saints and the entire region.
