METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Saints are wasting little time trying to fill the massive void left behind following the release of former All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas on Wednesday.
On Friday, the team announced the signing of unrestricted free agent Cedrick Wilson Jr. on a two-year contract, as well as free agent and former St. Augustine High School star Stanley Morgan on a one-year deal.
The 6-foot, 205-pound New Orleans native originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals out of Nebraska in 2019. During his stint with the Bengals, Morgan made a name for himself on special teams with 30 stops, including 20 solo, as well as catching five passes for 29 yards.
In his senior season with the Purple Knights, Morgan totaled 46 receptions for 891 yards and eight touchdowns and was chosen as a first-team Class 5A All-State receiver.
Meanwhile, the 6-2, 197-pound Wilson joins the Saints with considerably more receiving experience with 101 receptions for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns from six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2018-21) and Miami Dolphins (2022-23).
