NEW ORLEANS — Alvin Kamara's standout performance in the Saints' crushing 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday has earned him his third career NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
The 29-year-old, five-time Pro Bowler scored four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) in his second-highest career scoring day, and totaled 180 yards from scrimmage including 115 rushing and 65 yards receiving.
His previous OPTW honor came after his career-best, NFL record-tying six touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day in 2020.
After just two games this season, Kamara has gained 198 yards rushing on 35 carries with four touchdowns, as well as 92 yards receiving on seven receptions for one TD.
The Saints' all-time leader in touchdowns (83) will hope to build off the best start of his eight-year career when the Saints (2-0) host the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) in the Caesars Superdome on Sunday.
