NEW ORLEANS — Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will visit with the Saints on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
As Carr has $40.4 million in guarantees that kick in in a little over a week, the Raiders have been shopping the veteran quarterback.
The Saints have emerged as a suitor. Rapoport said that the meeting is for due diligence and no trade has been done, but the Saints are a serious contender for Carr.
Carr would be reunited with his first head coach, Dennis Allen, who coached the raiders from 2012-2014. Carr's rookie year was in 2014, when Allen was fired after the Raiders had an 0-4 start.
Carr, 31, has been the Raiders' starting quarterback since 2014. He is a four-time pro bowler but was benched for the final two games of the 2022 season.
