Saints announce uniform combo for Monday Night Football

For the superstitious, this is the Saints' winningest jersey combination in 2018, and one of their most-successful looks in the Sean Payton era.

The New Orleans Saints have revealed their uniform combination for their Monday Night Football game against the Carolina Panthers: white jerseys and black pants. The announcement came via the official Saints Twitter account, featuring a simulation of running back Alvin Kamara celebrating a touchdown in the Panthers end zone from EA Madden NFL 19:

It looks like New Orleans has phased out the gold pants they’ve worn often in the past. They’ve paired their black home jerseys only with black pants, while otherwise donning white jerseys with the black pants and rotating in their all-white Color Rush variants.

For the superstitious, this is the Saints’ winningest jersey combination in 2018, and one of their most-successful looks in the Sean Payton era. They wore this combination just a week ago against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and must be hoping for a repeat victory on the road in Carolina. Here’s how every uniform combo ranks over the last decade:

  • White jersey, gold pants: 33-18, .647
  • White jersey, black pants: 89-56, .613
  • White jersey, white pants: 3-2, .600
  • Black jersey, black pants: 23-19, .547
  • Black jersey, gold pants: 40-48, .455
